Glaucoma Fellowship Programme
A recent meta-analysis of population-based studies in the United States suggested that the number of people with open-angle glaucoma will increase by 50% by the year 2020. This has major implications for the health care system worldwide and raises concern about whether the medical needs of the glaucoma population will be met. There seems to be a growing need to provide ophthalmic care to glaucoma patients. It may be desirable to train more glaucoma specialists to meet the future health care needs.
Lotus Eye Care Hospital offers a 18 months clinical training fellowship focusing on the diagnosis and management of the glaucoma’s. The program allows a flexible plan for observing and participating directly in medical, laser and surgical glaucoma care with full-time Glaucoma Consultant and trained staff. No more than two clinical fellows per year will be chosen to assure maximal clinical and surgical experience.
