Epi-LASIK (Epithelial Laser In Situ Keratomileusis) is an innovated procedure of Lasik to overcome the limitations of Lasik.
Who is eligible?
What is the difference between Lasik and Epilasik?
For Epi-LASIK the eximer laser is applied in the bed of the epithelial flap (first layer of the Cornea). But in LASIK the laser is applied in the bed of the Storma (Third layer of the cornea)
What are the limitations of Lasik?
How EpiLasik is done?
The treating doctor performs the flap lifting first and laser is applied. The laser application will give you a mild burning sensation which will get over within few hours after the procedure. The flap is replaced back. A thin contact lens will be placed on your eyes for few days to reduce your discomfort while epithelium heals.
What is the Post operative procedure?
You will remain in our post operative section for couple of hours after the procedure. The doctor will examine your eyes and will prescribe you the post operative medicines.
You are requested to bring an attendant along with you for taking you home.
