Phacoemulsification
It is a suture less cataract surgery where the cataract lens is emulsified using ultrasound energy and aspirated using a very small wound of 2.8 mm . The surgery requires no anesthetic injection also, if a foldable IOL is implanted.
IOL means an artificial lens that is placed in the position of natural lens inside the eyes for good distance vision without spectacles. Multifocal IOL gives better distant as well as near vision without glasses.
